Track days are the easiest and most common entry point to road racing. These events are called “HPDE” which stands for High Performance Driver Education. A track day is an organized event where you can drive your car on a road-racing track at high speed while learning from experts and professional drivers. For many drivers, track days are a kind of sport unto themselves – something you can do and enjoy for a lifetime without any need to go “further”.

Drive, Network, and Enjoy A Day At The Racetrack In Your Own Car!
- Track days allow you to practice your driving skills
- NO Speed Limits, Police, or Minivans.
- All experience levels welcome from beginner to advanced with Pro Instructors.
- Events are held at an established road racing circuit (Watkins Glen, VIR, Road America, Buttonwillow, Laguna Seca, etc.)
- Street cars and race cars are welcome
- Drivers are organized into groups depending on skill and experience (and sometimes car type)
- Become a better, safer, more confident and faster driver on and off the track.
- Have Fun with friends, family, and our professional and friendly staff
- Drivers are organized into groups depending on skill and experience (and sometimes car type)
- One group is allowed on track at a time for a “session”
- When the first group finishes its session, the next group goes out
- Sessions last for 15-30 minutes
- There are four or five sessions per day per group
- Cars can go as fast as they want to (these are not “parade” laps)
- Passing rules vary by group. For example, lower groups may have passing with point-bys on straights only; higher groups may have passing anywhere with a point-by or there may be open passing
- Flagging rules apply (green, blue, yellow, red, checker etc.)
- Instructors may be provided or available for a fee
WHAT TO EXPECT
Most frequent questions and answers
You can drive your car as long as it meets the following requirements:
- MUST be in proper mechanical condition
- Tires must have 50% or better tread life
- Brakes must have 50% or better brake linings
- Zero fluid leaks – NO EXCEPTIONS!
- Secured battery
- Removed floor mats
- No loose items inside vehicle
- All loose contents must be removed from inside the vehicle including the trunk
- NO “High Center Of Gravity” Vehicles (ie; Pickup Trucks, SUVs, MiniVans)
- NO Convertibles (unless equipped with factory “pop up” roll-over protection, or approved roll bar.) Targa Tops & T-Tops are OK.
*** A Tow Hook is not required but recommended to avoid possible damage to vehicle should you require service from the Safety Crew.
All drivers are required to have:
- Closed toe shoes or boots
- DOT Full Face Motorcycle or Auto Racing helmet
All drivers are required to submit the following documents for each event:
- Valid Drivers License
- Completed Registration Form (Drivers sharing a vehicle are required to register separately)
- Completed Release of Liability Waiver
- Proof of Insurance
All participants will be required to attend a morning driver’s meeting the day of the event. We will discuss and educate all drivers on general rules of the road, on-track etiquette, schedule, and the FLAGS. First timers and novice drivers will receive specialized instruction and guidance to ensure a fun and safe experience.

***FLAGS ARE REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE SO PLEASE TAKE THE TIME TO MEMORIZE THEM IF YOU ARE NOT FAMILIAR.
All drivers will be divided in 2-3 groups based on driving experience. Each group will have its own rules regarding passing and overtaking, and the details will be discussed and understood by all prior to heading on-track.
We will likely run each group for 30-minute on-track sessions and have a required download meeting immediately following each session. There is the potential for (6) 30-minute sessions for each driver. That equates to 2.5 hours of precious track time!
This is not a “racing event”, therefore there will be no timing & scoring available. However, you are welcome to utilize your own system should your vehicle be equipped. Go-Pro cameras are encouraged as they are a great teaching tool and put the proof behind all of your bragging rights!
Driver wristbands allow for passenger riding also. Passengers are permitted ONLY with a signed Release of Liability waiver.
